When you have a spinal cord injury, life as you know it changes forever.

Recovery is possible, and there is potential to make progress even years after your injury.

At the International Center for Spinal Cord Injury, we strive to help children and adults with chronic paralysis find new hope through activity-based restorative therapy, helping them regain some sensation, function, mobility and independence months — or years — after their diagnosis.

Share The Hope!

Kennedy Krieger Institute’s International Center for Spinal Cord Injury at Maple Lawn has far exceeded original patient visit projections and we’re now treating hundreds of individuals each month.

To accommodate the needs of our patients and in response to our ever-growing waiting list, we recently hired an additional physician, who will be based full time at Maple Lawn beginning in January of 2022, while each of our other physicians will continue to spend one day a week at that location. Our nursing staff at Maple Lawn will also increase to two full-time registered nurses.

To treat more patients, we need not only an expanded medical staff, but also additional space. An adjacent space is available in Maple Lawn that could be built out for this purpose and philanthropy is needed to help us secure the space and prepare the building for occupancy.
